If you can picture this scenario.
Luna, my Cockapoo, and I go for a pleasant stroll on a Sunday morning.
During the walk, it starts to rain, which is pretty typical of our British weather. Anyway, not content with getting wet from the rain, Luna decides she’s got to entertain herself by splashing through every muddy puddle that she can find.
Because we had already walked too far to turn back, we weren’t going to get dry anytime soon, so I thought it would be a good idea to pop into a small inviting-looking cafe that we had just passed.
Naturally, I wouldn’t be so rude as not to try to clean as much of the mud from Luna’s coat as I can before I go into the cafe. However, you can probably guess what happened next. Yes, you’re correct; Luna proceeded to shake herself violently. Of course, muddy water spattered over customers, staff, and cafe walls alike.
Having made such an impressive entrance, you can’t now sidle out of the cafe in utter embarrassment, so I find a table in an obscure corner order my drink while mumbling apology after apology to the still shocked waitress. Naturally, my suffering doesn’t end there because a puddle of mud and water begins to form on the floor around where Luna is lying. Before long, it becomes apparent to almost everyone in the cafe, much to the dismay, of the other clientele.
Of course, that’s not quite the end of this sorry tale. There’s the return home in the rain and the same shake and spray activity once we get through the front door.
I tell you this story not because I am alone in this scenario; these special times are visited on probably every dog owner up and down the British Isles.
No, I mention this because there is an excellent solution that you may not be aware of, and it solves this problem once and for all.
The answer is, of course, the Equafleece!
What Is An Equafleece Dog Suit?
Contents and Quick Navigation
Essentially a dog onesie, the Equafleece Dogsuit is designed to keep your Cockapoo clean and dry. It’s made of Polartec, which means it’s waterproof and dirt-resistant. Put one on a Cockapoo that has been out in the rain or mud, and you won’t be able to tell they’ve been outside! This dog suit will save you many hours of washing and bathing during the winter months!
When your Cockapoo wears this suit, all you’ll have to do is wipe their paws clean after every wet and muddy walk. The Equafleece will return to good as new once you’ve run it through the washing machine cycle.
Drying your dog, preventing muddy shakes, keeping them warm in the winter, and keeping cool in the summer are just some of the many benefits of these dog suits.
Hard-wearing and suited to the task at hand Equafleece’s dog suits are of the highest calibre.
What size Equafleece for a cockapoo?
When choosing the right size Equafleece for your cockapoo, it is best to wait until they have fully grown before making a purchase.
Generally, an 18-20 size should fit a cockapoo that weighs around 8kg, whereas a size 24 should be more suitable for cockapoos weighing up to 15 kg. It is also essential that the fit of the Equafleece be slightly loose, avoiding any discomfort or tightness which may restrict movement. Ultimately, getting the right size and type of Equafleece will ensure plenty of comfort and warmth on chilly days!
How Does Equafleece Work?
Equafleece is not just any old material; it’s manufactured from Polartec® polyester fleece. “This bi-component fabric technology is constructed with a hydrophilic interior to pull moisture away from the skin and transfer it to the outer layer. Power Dry’s exterior surface area disperses and releases this moisture for more efficient dry times. Continuous evaporation prevents saturation and regulates temperature in both hot and cold conditions. Directly from the Polartec website, click here if you want to learn more.
If your dog becomes wet before you put the Equafleece on, it will help dry them off because of the fabric’s ability to wick moisture away from the inside to the outside.
Best Uses For The Equafleece
During A Walk
When you take your Cockapoo for a walk, if it’s raining, pop them in the Equafleece before leaving home, and the mud, puddle splashes, and light to medium rain will all be absorbed by your dog’s Equafleece coat.
When you return, toss the Equafleece into your washing machine and relax because there will be no more muddy pawprints, shake and spray disasters.
If you want to stop anywhere for a coffee, you can confidently take your dog inside with you and you are assured there will be no more embarrassing incidents.
There’s a whole host of Equafleece products for just about every occasion:
Equafleece Dog Suits
Great for keeping a wet dog dry in light rain, on damp ground, or warming up a chilled dog on a long day out in the elements.
Dog Tankie
Like the suit, the Dog Tankie is composed of the same material and functions similarly. There are no legs to this suit; instead, it only covers the dog’s body—ideal for dogs who could overheat in the complete suit. There are times when you’ll find the tankie to be extremely handy, such as after your Cockapoo has had a swim and needs warming up quickly.
Summer Suit
It’s no surprise that the Summer Suit is named for the season in which it’s intended to be worn: summer. Even on a hot summer day at the beach, Cockapoos can get cold quickly once they leave the water. That’s why the summer suit might be beneficial for you and your dog.
For those gloomy but still relatively warm days, these suits are perfect. Even though the suit is made from a Lycra-like material, it helps keep your dog dry in light summer showers. The suit doubles as an effective tick suit if you’re heading into an area where ticks could be an issue.
T-Shirt Suit
An alternative to the summer suit is the T-Shirt Suit. If your Cockapoo has very pale fur, then it might have an issue with the sun on scorching, sunny days. If you need extra precautions, the T-Shirt suit is an excellent idea. It has the softness and breathability of a cotton t-shirt. If the weather is sweltering, you can soak the T-Shirt, wring it out, and pop it on your Cockapoo; it does a splendid job of keeping off the sun and helping your Cockapoo keep cool.
